YouTube Music gets in on the listening wrap-up action with 2021 Recap
YouTube Music users can now join Spotify and Apple users in sharing their 2021 listening stats.

YouTube Music is getting in on the wrap-up action with 2021 Recap, which will let users look over their listening trends from the past year.
This year’s 2021 Recap offers new features similar to Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music’s 2021 Replay. It’s a step-up from YouTube Music’s Year In Review 2020, which involved a much more straightforward playlist.
Accessible via the YouTube Music app, the review feature shows your most played artists, songs, music videos and playlists of the year. You can also check out top playlists made by other YouTube Music listeners.
Another feature is the “Hits Of 2021”, where you can find some of the most popular music this year. For genre-specific highlights, the streaming service has also included playlists for hip-hop, rock, country, Latin, and more.
“This year, YouTube Music is taking you on a journey through your year in sound with 2021 Recap, a first-time experience that will bring you fun, shareable stats, and a personalised playlist to help you relive all your favourite music from the past year,” Google shared in a blog post. “The 2021 Recap lets you explore everything that made your year in music uniquely you.”
Now, YouTube Music listeners can also join other users in sharing their 2021 music stats. The music stats can be shared with friends using the arrow at the bottom of their respective pages.
