iZotope’s Neoverb analyses your music and applies a tailored reverb
Blend three reverb algorithms to fine-tune your sounds
Massachusetts-based iZotope is renowned for its range of intelligent audio production software like Ozone 9 and RX 8. iZotope’s brand new reverb, Neoverb, makes use of the company’s expertise to combine technology from its Exponential Audio range and an AI-powered workflow, allowing producers to dial in a reverb that is ideal for their particular project.
With the four-step Reverb Assistant feature, Neoverb will listen to your audio and make automatic adjustments to the reverb parameters in real-time. Decide on your preferred Style using a slider that blends three reverb algorithms from Realistic to Dramatic, then choose a Size from XS up to XL. Four tones are onboard to change up the feel of the reverb with Clean, Dark, Bright and Airy. Once you’ve made your decisions, hit Next and let Neoverb apply the right EQ settings to make the reverb sit nicely in the mix.
Once you’ve found your sound, the Blend Pad can be used to experiment with the results and fine-tune the settings of each of the three algorithms in the Advanced Panel. The three algorithms within Neoverb are Reflections, Plate and Hall.
The AI-powered pre-and post-EQ sections can be used to Unmask your audio – listening to it and making suggestions on which resonances to attenuate. A Masking Meter communicates with other iZotope plug-ins in your session to show you where your reverb is clashing with other instruments in your mix. A dry/wet slider lets you dictate the amount to which EQ is applied, ranging from 0 per cent up to 200 per cent.
For more control over the reverb tail, Neoverb is built with a modulation panel that offers two different modes – a subtle pitched effect or a classic chorus. Input Smoothing is essentially a compressor that keeps dynamics even and brings down sharp transients.
Over 100 presets are included, created by iZotope’s sound designers for ocala, guitars, experimental spaces and more. With a resizable window, Neoverb is available in AU, AAX, VST2 and VST3 formats for macOS and Windows.
