Swedish craftsman and AV artist Love Hultén has modded a Korg Minilogue XD, redesigning it into the retro-future Montesynth.
If you already have a Minilogue, it’s probably giving you a dirty look for even clicking this article. The Montesynth is a result of Hultén deconstructing Korg’s analogue polyphonic synth and rearranging its parts into a completely new format and aesthetic.

The custom-made synth is for a client of Hultén’s, who we are now incredibly envious of. Even Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan has expressed interest in the Montesynth, commenting “need one lmao” on Hultén’s Instagram post.
Hultén hasn’t revealed much about the custom-made machine, but this is by no means his first foray into reskinning synths. This appears to be the second Montesynth mod he’s attempted, with the first one sporting a similar look. In an Instagram post, Hultén says: “the Montesynth had issues, so I came up with a new design”, which you can see below.
The designer has also revamped the Minilogue into the Prism 37, with a detached module and keyboard. There’s also the Carrier 37, which is a Commodore SX-64-inspired Minilogue. This custom design is available to order, with a price tag of $3,299.
Love Hultén also redesigns retro arcade consoles, computers, and furniture. If you’re striving for a picturesque studio that’s clean, quirky and full of character, you might be tempted by some of Hultén’s work.
