Elektron Digitone OS 1.32

After updating the Digitakt last summer, Elektron has introduced an update to its popular Digitone FM polyphonic synth. As expected, bug fixes and general improvements abound; for example, the ability to adjust LED and OLED screen intensity and improved bipolar knob graphics. Beyond this, Digitone OS 1.32 offers a selection of fun and useful new features.

A new mixer section with global effects means users can apply mixer, chorus, delay, reverb, and overdrive effects to their entire project, not just to their currently active pattern.

There’s a Filter Envelope Delay parameter, a Dual Mono mode for the external inputs to accommodate separate effects sends on each channel, rearrangements in parameter layouts (specifically LFOs) to better work alongside other devices (specifically the Digitakt), and a handy new option to remember a specific parameter subpage so that it can be quickly accessed again.

The LFO Fade envelope now also resets in Free mode when LFO.T is set to ON, opening up more functionality in the realm of modulation.

In addition, audio and sync bugs have been fixed when using Overbridge, Elektron’s desktop software for integrating the brand’s hardware instruments.

The update comes equally to both the module and keyboard formats of the Digitone, Elektron’s standalone but much loved FM synthesiser.
