Audio Technica’s latest pair of true wireless earbuds boasts an impressive 20 hours of continuous playback, or 15 hours with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) before it needs to be juiced.

When combined with the charging case, the ATH-CKS50TW (in true Audio Technica naming fashion) is said to last 50 hours, a number that pretty much blows all current wireless earbuds offerings out of the water. For reference, the Sony WF-1000XM4 promises 8 hours of playback while the Beats Fit Pro offers just 6 hours of battery life with ANC turned on.

For daredevils who loathe charging their devices on the regular, the earbuds will yield up to 90 minutes of listening time from just 10 minutes of charge when ANC is disabled.

That said, there is a lot more to these wireless earbuds than its amazing battery game.

According to Audio Technica, the earbuds are lightweight and deliver “deep, powerful bass” thanks to their shape and the use of new 9mm HD TWS drivers. They are also compatible with Sony’s 360 Reality Audio, offering users an immersive experience when listening to tracks that support the format.

In addition, the CKS50TW comes with feed-forward active noise cancellation, which means that the buds have microphones on the outside to detect and cancel out sound. Should you need to listen to your surroundings or make conversation, there’s a “hear-through” mode that lowers playback volume and allows outside sound in. The earbuds also boast a low-latency mode that should help minimise audio lag for those who use them for gaming and watching videos.

Other notable features include an IPX4 splash rating, multi-point technology which lets you connect the earbuds to more than one device at once, Bluetooth 5.2, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive Audio, and a sidetone feature that lets you hear your own voice during calls.

Currently listed for retail at £149.99 / €169, the CKS50TW can be purchased on Audio Technica’s website.
