Point Blank Tutorial: mau5trap’s Rinzen walks us through his track ‘Torus’
Created in Ableton Live, the techno track features Marbs and Evan
Techno producer/DJ Rinzen has paid a visit to Point Blank HQ, accompanied by his original Ableton Live project file of Torus.
The track was released in 2019 on deadmau5’ mau5trap label, with collaborations from Marbs and Evan Casey. In the video, Rinzen walks us through Torus in enormous detail, sharing the techniques used to beef up his drums, why he uses specific EQ settings, what plug-ins he uses and much more.
Point Blank says that “the LA native is best known for his combination of cinematic sound design with forward-thinking, melodic techno production. What he creates is otherworldly and inspiring and keeps crowds glued to the dancefloor”. He has been releasing music on mau5trap since 2017 and has also released on underground European labels, like Steyoyoke and Chapter 24 Records, as well as continuing to perform at major festivals such as Creamfields and Village Underground.
