As part of our live production masterclass held every Friday on our YouTube channel, we cover various production techniques, reflecting the courses we teach at Point Blank. Last Friday, we took a closer look at our brand new course Mixing Dance Music in Ableton and gave you a sneak peek at what the course has to offer.
In this video, course tutor Anthony Chapman (Klaxons, Franz Ferdinand, Rudimental) looks at three main elements of the course and mixing as a whole, including automation tricks, custom-made delays and creative sidechaining.
Our Mixing Dance Music in Ableton course looks at going beyond production and into the true engineering and technical aspects of mixing, all within Ableton Live. Everyone knows what a powerful creative tool Ableton can be but it’s less known for its mixing capabilities. With exclusive downloadable racks only available with this course, including our bespoke De-esser, Tap Delay and ADT (Artificial Double Tracking), you will also be provided with at least three complete projects to download – including all stems – as well as many more exciting project examples. We take you through three entire mix processes from start to finish.
You can watch the video above and make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel for more free tutorials, interviews and live events. If you like what you see in this video, you can find out more about our Ableton courses here.
