Post Punk is the latest in Loopmasters’ Vibes series, and includes eight song kits that take their influence from artists such as The Clash, Blondie, Killing Joke and more. Expect 270 loops that cover overdriven guitars and chugging basslines to hard-hitting drum loops, plus a handful of percussion loops. To help keep the pack authentic, the performances are loose and lively throughout, and the guitars have been recorded using a range of 1970s pedals and via valve amplifiers.
A lot of the loops use the same sounds so that the parts can be mixed and matched, with the drums presented in dry and wet versions and each kit featuring heavier track variations. This is a dependable pack and the parts work well together but they can sound uninspired in isolation. That said, they’re a solid resource for sprinkling some punk and new-wave pizazz on tracks and cues.
