Based on the venerable U47 FET, which currently retails for $4,000, United Studio Tech aims to recreate the magic, for a far lower price tag. The UT FET47 is United’s first product, which they hope is the first of many, and has been in development for two years. The creators have painstakingly tracked down some of the original components used in the U47 FET, to create the most accurate reproduction of the classic sound.

UT FET47 features custom-wound Cinemag transformer, HT series capsule, designed in collaboration with Eric Heiserman. Chad, a spokesperson for United Studio Tech in the video above, stated that there are at least three components that are from the original stock of the U47 FET. Where they were unable to reproduce components with modern parts, they resorted to tracking down the now unavailable original parts.

The microphone is designed to the almost exact aesthetics of the original, making it quite the clone. It will be available by the end of this year, at $799.
