NAMM 2020: Listen to UDO Super 6’s new features
We catch up with the team at UDO to find out what Super 6 is capable of now
NAMM 2020: UDO has brought the Super 6 polysynth to Winter NAMM to show off the synth’s new functions, and how they help offer more sonic versatility than the last time we encountered it.
You may already be acquainted with the Super 6 after it made a splash at last year’s Superbooth, thanks to the unique binaural capabilities, along with its six ‘super voices’. Just under a year on, UDO has stormed into NAMM to show off some of the newest powers the super-synth possesses.
Among the new additions is a selection of waveshapes that allow greater complexity of sound design. The analogue-hybrid machine was created with a seven-core wavetable oscillator with the ability to replace and add new waveforms, plus a second oscillator with FM, sync, sub-oscillator and crossfade modes.
Also now fully functional in the synth are looping envelopes to morph sounds in new ways, plus a modulation matrix and effects section. Another interesting introduction is a third LFO, that can be used as a third oscillator, creating resonant and rapid-moving sounds. You can hear all this in the video below.
UDO Super 6 is now available for £2295, find out more at udo-audio.com
