Reverb The Pedal Movie
Online musical instrument marketplace Reverb.com has released a trailer for an upcoming feature-length documentary in which makers and players chart the history of the guitar pedal.
The Pedal Movie tells the story of the stompbox from its beginnings under the feet of Hendrix, built by Roger Mayer, to the huge industry that it’s become to today, full of boutique makers and innovation.
The film talks to prominent guitarists such as Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, Steve Vai, Shellac guitarist and Nirvana producer Steve Albini as well as Sarah Lipstate (Noveller, Iggy Pop) and more.
To cover the culture and history of the device, its makers also engage with the pedal builders themselves from companies such as Wampler, Chase Bliss, JHS and Meris, and even Reverb’s own Andy Martin.
The film’s release is slated for summer and you can keep up with more new about it on reverb.com.
