Native Instruments and iZotope team up to form a music tech alliance
Backed by Francisco Partners and EMH Partners, the two companies will continue their aims to support creators.

Berlin-based Native Instruments has teamed up with US software developer iZotope to form a new music and audio creator group. The new tech group is being backed by Francisco Partners and EMH Partners.
Both companies will continue to operate independently, working towards a shared mission of shaping the future of music-making and audio production. No structural changes will take place, and the respective leaders and teams will continue as normal.
The goal of the alliance is “to better support the creative community through close collaboration, the sharing of knowledge and technology and the enhancement of product offerings”, a press release states.
Constantin Koehncke, CEO of Native Instruments said of the partnership: “As more and more people are getting into music-making they are looking for easy access to the building blocks for their journey. Joining forces with iZotope brings us yet another step closer to fulfilling our shared mission to empower producers of all levels with everything they need.

As we have gotten to know each company and their teams, we are convinced that they will transform and expand the industry by working together.”
Earlier in 2021, Francisco Partners acquired a majority stake in Native Instruments, four years after EMH Partners invested €50 million into Native Instruments. Another investment from EMH came in 2020 to gain majority ownership, and resulted in 1.5 million monthly active users on NI by the end of 2020, doubling the original number.
