Massive X gets a price drop and three new Expansions
Rush, Pulse and Scene each contain 150 presets from expert sound designers.

Native Instruments has launched three new Expansions to its wavetable giant, Massive X. Each Expansion contains 150 presets which have been “cooked up by the finest sound designers, with a meticulous approach to squeezing the very best out of Massive”, according to the Berlin-based brand. Rush, Pulse and Scene each contain sounds suited for different genres and flavours.
To top it off, Native Instruments are celebrating the new packs with a £45 price reduction on Massive X for new and crossgrading customers. Each purchase will include the new Expansions too. If you’re just buying the bundles, you can take advantage of a 3-for-2 deal as part of the introduction.
The Expansions
Pulse is packed with gnarly sounds boasting a heavy low-end, with “deep-sea subs, corrosive and distorted lines, talkative formants, and futuristic takes on low-end classics”, NI says. Clearly, Pulse is not for the light-hearted with huge, wobbling and mutating textures, ideal for creating basslines to skank out to.
The presets in Rush are “ built for serious, melodic front-left fun”, according to NI. Poised for use on a range of styles with a focus on melodic leads and pads. Performer programming allows easy creation of dancefloor-ready sounds.
Scene takes care of the atmospheric, ambient and evolving sounds with sequenced, multitimbral and complex sounds. These presets could be ideal for soundtracking or sound effects creation, with each preset equipped with macro mapping for quick sound shaping within the patch.
The Expansions are available now for £25 each or all three for £50.
New users can get Massive X plus the three Expansions for £129.00, and those crossgrading can get Massive X plus three Expansions for £89.00.
