ValhallaDSP’s new ValhallaDelay plug-in has a wealth of delay, echo flavours
A multi-faceted tool that offers loads of classic and modern options.
The ValhallaDelay in Tape mode
VallhallaDSP has expanded its software effects collection with ValhallaDelay, a delay plug-in that offers a modern twist on classic delay and echo units.
It comes with seven different delay modes: HiFi, Ghost, RevPitch, Tape, BBD (bucket brigade delay), Digital and Pitch. If you’re a fan of the classics, then the last four modes should be a treat.
Another highlight on the list above is ValhallaDSP’s original Ghost mode, which produces skull-splitting sounds by combining the Hifi mode’s tape model with “frequency shifting and a unique diffusion algorithm”, according to the brand.
On top of the modes, ValhallaDelay also serves up five ‘Styles’, each helping you to control the number of delay voices. Among these are Single, Dual, PingPong, and Quad delay types, plus a fifth style called Ratio. According to ValhallaDSP, Ratio is great for sounds that slowly transition from delay to reverb.
The plug-in also features a Diffusion section which comes in handy should you need to smooth out the attack of each delay. Diffusion also doubles up as a lush reverb, adding an ethereal quality to your delay sounds.
