Subpac and Sonarworks partner up to create “accurate, immersive studio sound”
The upcoming Subpac C1 control interface will be the first product to support SoundID Reference.
According to the two companies, the partnership has formed after “repeated requests from the companies’ shared user base and broader industry demand.” They add that the goal of this new alliance is to provide creators with studio-accurate compositions that “sound and feel amazing.”
The first Subpac product to support SoundID Reference will be the Subpac C1, slated for a November 2021 release. The Subpac C1 is a control interface for the Subpac X1 wearable monitor, integrating SoundID Reference and freeing up CPU for a streamlined workflow.
Martins Popelis, co-founder of Sonarworks said: “Subpac users will be able to export their Sonarworks’ SoundID Reference room and headphone calibration filters to the C1 hardware and calibrate any audio source passing through Subpac, creating synergy to in-studio or on the go creators.”
In our review of Sonarworks SoundID Reference, we said: “We’ve been using Reference for years and would find it hard to go back to an uncalibrated sound now… If you’re a newcomer to Reference, though, or if you want improved PC driver performance and multiple translation profiles, it remains a superb piece of software that has become an essential tool for studios worldwide.”
You can preorder the Subpac X1 x C1 Pro Wireless bundle now for £699. Subpac says pre-orders are first come, first served, but the company will “continue to update you as things progress”.
