When you’ve given ‘lofi_final_3.wav’ about 20 listens and still can’t figure out what’s wrong, it may be time to consider getting another pair of ears in. This is what SongChecks, a new online service, aims to provide music-makers: accessible professional feedback.

SongChecks says it gives you written feedback for your work, drawing from a pool of “leading producers, mix and mastering engineers” who cover a range of genres, from pop to metal to hip-hop, country and everything in between.

It costs between $130 to $220 to get a written report on your track, which should arrive within a week of making a booking.

Experts will offer suggestions on how you can improve the sound of your mix, with the report’s level of detail in feedback decided by the level of skill you’ve indicated on the booking page.

SongChecks experts boast some serious credits, with many having worked with big-name artists from Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Wu-Tang Clan and more. See the full list of producers here.

A side benefit to using the service, according to SongChecks, is that your songs will get heard by hitmakers in the industry. The brand adds that “maybe (just maybe) you’ll be ‘discovered’ in the process!”

SongChecks launches tomorrow, 27 November.
