Rhodes MK8’s analogue effects section to feature compressor, BBD chorus and delay and more
Rhodes Music Group is building the hype for what it calls “the best Rhodes yet”.
Over the last few weeks, Rhodes Music Group has been sharing details on its upcoming Rhodes MK8 electric piano. Details on its effects section have now been revealed.
A newsletter sent out to subscribers reports that the effects section of the MK8 will feature a VCA compressor, BBD chorus and delay effects, as well as a phaser. All effects will be true bypass as well.
According to an 8 September Facebook post from the brand, Rhodes will be partnering with Kluge Klaviaturen GmbH of the Steinway Group to offer “unparalleled expression and a nuanced piano-like feel”.
Another post from earlier this month (seen below) revealed its custom-engineered preamp section to feature parametric EQ, independent drive, envelope control, onboard wah, a new vari-pan with 4 waveshapes, audio rate modulation capabilities and dual expression pedal control inputs.

The MK8 will be the first Rhodes product since the brand relaunched as Rhodes Music Group Ltd with new management in July. The brand began teasing the instrument in August, sharing black-and-white photographs of its creation and claiming the instrument would be “the best Rhodes yet”.
Rhodes has also shared some candid demos of the instrument to its Instagram page, but a full demo will likely come later with a big reveal.
