Pioneer DJ reveals streaming-compatible DDJ-200 controller
At just $149/£139, this portable unit can play tracks from Spotify, Deezer, Beatport Link and SoundCloud.

Pioneer DJ has unveiled DDJ-200, a portable $149/£139 controller designed for entry-level users. Chief amongst the device’s features is the ability to access streaming services via your smartphone, tablet or laptop, while built-in tutorials also serve as useful reference points.
The types of tracks played on DDJ-200 are dependent on the apps and software used. You’ll be able to access music stored in iTunes and rekordbox DJ libraries, or use Pioneer DJ’s own WeDJ iPhone app to stream tracks from Beatport Link and SoundCloud Go+ – though both require prior subscriptions.
Beyond the brand’s native app, DDJ-200 is also compatible with third-party platforms like Algoriddim’s djay – offering integration with Spotify – as well as edjing Mix, which links to Deezer.
The actual controller arrives as a lightweight twin-deck unit. Through WeDJ’s tutorial and pop-hint options, you can learn how to operate the device while also being exposed to DJing fundamentals. Another WeDJ feature that might be helpful is Transition FX, which is touted to aid you in splicing phrases together for smoother transitions.
