Members of Native Instruments’ Metapop community can now get professional feedback on their tracks. The Berlin-based company recently teamed up with producers Catnapp, Minor Science, TRAKGIRL and Tony Nwachukwu to offer creative and technical feedback to members of its Metapop community.

After uploading a track to Metapop – either to the mentor’s track clinic, or to a remix competition – members can tick an option to “request feedback for this track”. In doing so, the track will be made open to receive feedback from either a mentor, community mentor or fellow members.

On its website, Metapop describes itself as a “place where music makers of all levels can share, connect, and collaborate”. To date, the community has seen 125,000 track uploads, and over 200 remix competitions – of which several are powered by samples and stems from artists like Battles, TOKiMONSTA and Grimes.

Metapop’s new mentorship service is offered with the acknowledgement of COVID-19’s effect on the global music maker community, “the world may be kind-of upside down right now”, they wrote, adding “but one thing which hasn’t changed is that people still want to make music, get that music heard and improve their production skills”
