Coleman Audio TC4 is a patch bay and monitor controller
With a mission to enhance signal processing.
Coleman Audio showed us their brand new, Swiss-made monitor controller, the TC4. The controller also acts as a sort of patch bay, with the ability to A/B processing, which you wouldn’t be able to do as swiftly in a regular patch bay. Four stereo inserts are available on the TC4, with the ability to switch the order of inputs 1 and 2 in the signal chain.
The monitor controller is completely passive, therefore when the power is off, the controller will still work, without noise or colour, to preserve signal integrity. The signal runs through a step attenuator with 47 positions, with tracking to 0.5dB, maintaining the stereo image.
The TC4 features a Pre/Post switch, to allow A/B comparison with ease. An Alt Spk button will send the signal to another set of desired speakers, and a Monitor Input switch will change between monitor inputs 1 and 2. A headphone output, mono switch, left and right speaker mute and phase reverse are featured on the front panel, too.
On the back, the TC4 has a Master Out, speaker out and meter out. This is so you can record the processed output to a track, and feed a pair of dedicated meters to keep an eye on your levels.
Available now, Coleman Audio TC4 carries a price tag of $1950, and looks like it would be a good fit in a professional engineer’s studio.
