The new turntables build upon the 2019-released Alva TT, which was claimed to be the world’s first aptX HD Bluetooth turntable.
The new Alva TT V2 keeps the original’s direct-drive system, pre-fitted Moving Coil (MC) cartridge, and the built-in aptX HD Bluetooth which allows music streaming with any compatible headphones or speakers.
Upgrades include a brand new tonearm with a detachable die-cast aluminium headshell and a built-in switchable phono stage, as well as the option to switch Bluetooth off.
Like the Alva TT V2, the Alva ST boasts aptX HD wireless hi-res streaming and phono stage, as well as the new tonearm with a detachable headshell. In contrast, the Alva ST uses a belt-drive mechanism and comes with an Audio Technica Moving Magnet cartridge.
Designed and engineered in London, both turntables feature lunar-grey aluminium top plates and matt black plinths for a “minimalist house style.”
The Cambridge Audio Alva TT V2 will retail at £1,700 / $1,999 / €1,999, while the more affordable option, Alva ST is priced at £850 / $999 / €999. Both models will be available in spring 2022.
