Deckard’s Dream – A Yamaha CS-80 Clone That’s Coming Soon

If you were considering pitching your own score for the upcoming Blade Runner sequel you’d be foolish to attempt it without Deckard’s Dream; the Yamaha CS-80 clone that’s been created by Sputnik Modular’s Roman Filippov…

This labour of love has been painstakingly recreated and looks to bring back the magic of the iconic Vangelis soundtrack.

Upon release the eight voice polyphonic analog synthesizer will be available as a pre-built unit or as a build-your-own project. Filippov has spared no expense in his recreation and any of you familiar with the CS-80 or plugin clones should have no trouble navigating the front panel.

At this current stage we’ve been informed that CV control, ring mod, chorus and spring reverb are all absent though Filippov informs us that both a CV expander and a 1U expander are in the works. There’s also the matter of no polyphonic aftertouch, but Roman has stated that he will possibly implement MPE (Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression) to remedy this.

There’s currently no price point or release date for Deckard’s Dream but watch this space for future details.
