Now here’s an early entrant for your Christmas list: An image of a DIY MIDI controller recently surfaced on a Reddit Eurorack forum, showcasing a device that features colourful faders, arcade machine-style buttons and what appears to be a wooden enclosure.
The image was uploaded by Reddit user jon_naz, who explained that the unique device was handmade by his wife. He also shared details about the unit, mentioning that the controller runs on Teensy microcontrollers, and is currently being used as a lightning board for the band Harry And The Potters.
Along with these details, the Reddit user also directed readers to his wife’s Instagram profile, paradisemidi, where she has posted various designs of completed MIDI controllers. Paradisemidi is reportedly open to commissions, and her controllers are customisable with different brightly coloured buttons, knobs and sliders.
