When it comes to remixing there’s almost an infinite amount of options. Not only can modern tools stretch and warp stems to an almost unrecognisable point, but by switching genres, styles and bpms you can create something totally new.
In this Masterclass video, recorded live last Friday, Point Blank instructors Seamus Haji and Ski Oakenfull take you through Seamus’s recent remix for Izzy Bizu – a former Point Blank student and BBC Sound of 2016 finalist. Seamus created the remix in Ableton Live and, along with Ski, demonstrates the tips and techniques used for arrangement, mixing and sound design.
