As a co-founder of Ninja Tune and Coldcut, Matt Black is one of the UK’s most influential and important artists in electronic music. As a pioneer of sampling as well as through landmark releases both as Coldcut and through Ninja Tune and via the long-running radio show Solid Steel, his influence is weaved into the fabric’s of all forms of electronic music. Never one to rest of his laurels, Matt has a brand new iOS app allowing users to download stems from Ninja Tune’s discography and remix them using the app’s built-in effects, sequencers and functions. We invited Matt to the Point Blank studios to find out more about the app and to see it in action.
