Learn how to navigate FL Studio’s multiband compressor, Maximus
Get familiar with the interface of the powerful dynamic processor
Multiband compression is a worthwhile technique to consider in your mixing process. It involves compressing multiple bands of frequency content in your mix, often split into low-, mid-, and high-bands, for more precise control over dynamic range. When applied properly, it can do wonders for your final track.

In this video, Max Venus teaches you how to use Maximus, FL Studio’s stock multiband compressor. You’ll learn the various parameters and functions of Maximus, and how to harness them to tighten your final mix. You’ll learn how to define the crossover of each frequency band and how to adjust the attack, release and sustain of each band.
Note that while this is not a direct lesson on how to use multiband compression, it will be more than enough to get you experimenting and learning how the technique can be effective in your mixing process.
