How and why you should use Ableton Live’s Spectrum and EQ Eight’s analyser
Go deeper into the details of your mix
Spectral analysis is a useful method in visualising the frequency content of your instruments or overall mix. This can show you if you have a lot of low-end frequencies occupying your mix or recording, for example. It’s also a great way to reference your mix against another producer’s mix so you can see how your favourite tracks are balanced. Ableton Live‘s Spectrum and EQ Eight are ideal tools for this.
In this Ableton Live Tutorial, Liam O’Mullane explains how Spectrum and EQ Eight can help you out with spectral analysis. He also breaks down all the features and functions on the devices – you’ll know these tools inside-out by the end of the video.
