Hospital Records artist Reso returns to Producertech for a focused course that looks at crafting neuro-style drum’n’bass basslines in Logic Pro. There are two hours of video, across 14 modules, which looks at creating a range of filthy bass sounds, from pulsating Reeses and chunky subs, to wub basses and resampled hits.

Reso goes into great detail on programming using Alchemy and EXS24, and also on further processing using Logic’s stock plug-ins, with later chapters exploring sequencing and bussing the sounds to form a cohesive bassline. You also get the Logic project files, Alchemy presets and a handful of bonus samples. We found the resolution of the videos a little low, but to be fair, you can still see the relevant details.

That aside, this is a fantastic, quick-moving tutorial that’s a must for d’n’b producers, and a good example that you don’t always need third-party software to achieve great results.
