We know and love Looplords for its focused and practical plug-ins based on specific subjects – fancy some Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk or Blade Runner-style playable sounds?
Electro Urban Drums maintains the developer’s no-frills philosophy, concentrating on high-quality source samples for its audio material, big playable pads – ideal for touchscreens – and 44 drums kits that will deliver all of your urban drum needs, plus a lot more besides. Here, the Echo and Feedback kits are just two that really deliver the goods and demonstrate the plug-in’s range.
You also get a couple of great hands-on effects to add vinyl crackle and tape noise to your beats – gradually shifting them from the ultra-clean to grunged-up filthy, and the LFO section adds a lot of dynamic sonic potential. Some hands-on filtering and pitching would be nice additions for a future update but, overall, we love Looplords’ ‘simple looking/great sounding’ philosophy, and the bonus MIDI files really help bring the best out of the plug-in.
