A good-value pack of usable techno sounds, with a handful of especially original-sounding patches.

This new preset pack finds Mind Flux crafting techno bass, pluck, pad, arp and synth sounds using u-he’s Diva synth, along the lines of artists such as Maceo Plex and Stephan Bodzin. There are plenty of long, sweeping pads, big round basses and expansive, reverb-drenched lead sounds, however, the patches are at their most interesting when they take more risks.
In particular, the sounds that make more use of the LFOs, detuning and extreme resonance settings are more characterful and original. It’s a shame that there’s not a little more use of Diva’s deeper Modifiers, or of modwheel assignments to make the patches more playable, but that doesn’t stop this being a solid and usable set of sounds for creating epic-sounding techno and electronica. As an added bonus, there are also 42 MIDI loops and 42 audio loops made using the sounds.
