If you opt for the deluxe version, there are 17 bonus presets including some interesting FX and synth drums, plus 107 MIDI files so you can re-create and edit the WAV loop riffs yourself – we’re not totally sure it warrants an extra £20.
The sound design is nuanced and favours usability over over the top sounds, with some clever use of the effects section to add interest. A lot of the patches have undulating LFOs to add subtle movement, plus velocity control to help make them react nicely to how hard you hit the keyboard.
Division is a consistently inspiring collection of retro and forward thinking sounds and we came up with multiple ideas just flicking through the presets.
