After noticing a distinct lack of interaction in live stream performances, the team at Yoop took it upon themselves to provide creators and fans with a more engaging entertainment experience. Yoop eSpace, a virtual events platform, has been in development for several years now, but the company officially made the service globally accessible last week.

Musicians, performers and stand-up comedians are among some of the creatives that will benefit from Yoop eSpace. An event can be attended by millions of fans around the world at once, featuring live visual and audio interaction between artists and fans through its virtual on-stage experience – one that is yet to be accessible anywhere else. Using digital screens, the performer can connect with fans in realtime, capturing the energy from the audience that is often lost in the usual medium of live streaming.

With one space ready for use in Montreal, Canada, Yoop has announced plans to develop Yoop eSpace venues in LA, New York and Nashville in the US, as well as more in the UK. Each space will be specially designed for the platform’s interactive live experiences, so creators can easily create and distribute interactive virtual content. Camera angles, sound setup, and other logistic details are designed to provide an “unparalleled level of production quality for online and interactive live entertainment”, Yoop says.

As with real-life events, fans will view public events on a pay-per-view basis, with some events offering a 24-hour replay and an option for hosting private audiences. The platform and physical venue are customisable for a wide range of event types, including concerts, athletic events, interactive interviews, meet & greets, corporate presentations, and more.
