ujam’s Virtual Bassist 2 gives you groovy basslines in over 60 styles
Regardless of your production skills, Virtual Bassist 2 offers pro-sounding bass tones off the bat.
What kind of bass guitar sound do you need in your latest project? Rough and heavy? Smooth and groovy? Or maybe you need a soulful, organic bass sound? ujam‘s Virtual Bassist 2 comes in three packages to facilitate each of these flavours, Rowdy, Royal and Mellow, and a ton of new features that can quickly create inspiring grooves. This includes drag and drop functions, 20 new styles and 30 new presets, plus a new Finisher section,
ujam has a track record of inventing easy-to-use plug-ins, like the Beatmaker 2 and Virtual Drummer 2 series, all designed to give producers of all levels the sounds and sequences they need. The new drag and dropping of Phrases means you can now rapidly insert basslines directly from Virtual Bassist into a MIDI clip in your DAW for any instrument channel to play.
A new Finisher section in Virtual Bassist 2 boasts 15 multi-effect modes per Bassist, where you can dial in effects like Rotor Cab, Bit Crusher and Raw Amp Room. The character controls and sound-shaping parameters on the Virtual Bassist 2 plug-in are fuss-free, letting new users understand and manipulate the instrument quickly.
Once you’ve honed in your sound, you can take advantage of the AI-assisted technology within Virtual Bassist 2 to strum out groovy patterns. The bass-maker can create articulations that are “never musically or technically wrong”, ujam says.
20 new styles are included in this upgrade, bringing the total number of styles up to 60 styles and 1380 phrases per Bassist. Plus, 30 new presets have been added, making it more than 150 presets per Bassist.
Virtual Bassist 2 is compatible in VST, AU, AAX plug-in formats for both macOS and Windows. Available now, each Bassist costs $/€129 with a Bundle of all three (Royal, Rowdy and Mellow) available for $/€269.
