UDO’s long-awaited binaural poly synth, the Super 6, is now shipping
Get the hybrid-analogue synth in a black or blue finish.
The 12-voice binaural analogue-hybrid synth boasts an intuitive user interface and employs FPGA digital oscillators to create rich textures. Super 6’s name originates from the concept of the 12 voices, which feed through a true stereo audio path to make up 6 ‘super’ voices, with impressive stereo imaging – hence the ‘binaural’ reference. We caught up with the founder of UDO, George Hern, who spoke to us about the development of the new synth, which you can read here.
We also managed to feast our eyes and ears on the Super 6 at NAMM 2020 and Superbooth 2020, check out the demos below.
George Hearn, says in a press release “The result of years of hard work and many iterations of development, my mission with the Super 6 has been to harmonise what I love about archetypal electronic instrument design with modern, novel synthesis technologies that excel at generating spatially dynamic results. The architecture leverages the vibrancy of a true-stereo analogue signal path, driving it with an extremely high sample rate, spectrally versatile digital audio, and presents you with straightforward, expressive controls of superior mechanical build quality. I would love to see this instrument with the wear and tear of many years of use. Experiment, play, learn, and, hopefully, love it like we do!”
The UDO Super 6 is available in now in black or blue for £2,295. Find out more at udo-audio.com
