Thermionic Culture celebrates its 20th year with the release of the special limited edition Culture Vulture coming in January 2018…
Limited to only 120, each unit comes with Mullard and Philips factory valves and a signed certificate. Unlike the original, we’re told that it produces much lower background noise, “using Sowter transformers to balance line inputs and outputs, also indented pots for easy recall.”
Thermionic tells us that the sound is practically identical to the original Culture Vulture, except now the top end is extended to way beyond audio range, making it perfect for mastering. Though they’re quick to reassure us that “you can still get 99% distortion if you should feel the need!” It even comes with an extra extreme position on the distortion switch.
