Symphonic Acoustics Dual 8V monitors boast huge sound in a small package
The 13-inch speakers ship with a curated selection of power and DSP options
Boston-based pro-audio manufacturer, Symphonic Acoustics, has released the Dual 8V ultra-high-end studio monitors.
The Dual 8V is built on the foundations of other Symphonic Acoustics large format monitors, used by the likes of Paul Epworth, J. Cole and Ann Mincieli. Made in the USA, the brand says the speakers are the result of a “longtime design and manufacturing collaboration” with some coveted engineers, including George Augspurger and John Storyk, among others. The monitors are geared toward mixing and monitoring across a variety of genres. Each pair ships with a selection of power and DSP options.
The 2X8V’s sonic signature features an extended bass response, punchy mid-range and a smooth high-end, potentially making them ideal for all styles of music. Its desirable mid-range response is thanks to a refined horn design, made with high-quality manufacturing materials and a cleverly designed internal cabinet. With the help of Augspurger, Symphonic Acoustics made refinements to the cabinet while improving horn materialisations, which the brand says has “resulted in improved sonic performance, with increased cabinet stability.”.
“Our new Dual 8 system 2X8V monitors are perfect for rooms that require speakers capable of delivering large format sound pressure levels, but in a smaller form factor,” commented PK Pandey, founding partner of Symphonic Acoustics. “We worked in close collaboration with George Augspurger, John Storyk, WSDG Founding Partner, Grammy-award winning engineer Renato Cipriano and REDI Acoustics throughout the design process, and we feel that we have achieved the perfect balance of form and function in a cabinet that is just 13-inches wide.”
The 2X8V’s world-class power and DSP package can be customised to accommodate a vast range of listening environments. Beyond its sonic capabilities, the 2X8V certainly looks powerful too. It’s available in high gloss and matte finishes, with several colours to choose from including the signature Metallic Grey and Copper. Symphonic Acoustics is also able to formulate custom colours to suit the aesthetics of any given environment and can facilitate soffit-mounting.
