SoundCloud rolls out new Artist Shortcuts feature for iOS app
Providing a direct-line between music makers and their fans
SoundCloud is rolling out a new feature for its iOS app called Artist Shortcuts, which lets fans see new content from their favourite artists, the moment they open their apps.
With Artist Shortcuts, SoundCloud aims to give music makers a direct line to their fans. The feature notifies users of newly uploaded or reposted tracks from the artists they follow. In a recent blog post, SoundCloud claims that the feature increases track engagement “by more than 25%”
Music makers are further encouraged to “use this momentum to build relationships” by interacting with day-one listeners in the comments section. The statement continues: “more followers means more fans will see your latest updates and drive up your plays”.
SoundCloud recently teamed up with Twitch as part of a set of initiates they’ve taken to support music makers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company has also hinted that they would be dropping more updates that “personalize your SoundCloud experience” in the coming months.
