Weighing in at just 40mb and a price tag of £0, CollaB3 from Sampleson could be a no-brainer for those needing a touch of tonewheel organ in their music. The free Hammond B3 emulation is being launched “to help music makers around the world to #StayHome”, Sampleson says.

The virtual instrument was created in collaboration with Librewave, LalalandAudio and Studio427 Audio, and will be free forever. Featuring leakage emulation, rotary speaker emulation and onboard chorus, reverb and switches for harmonic percussion, CollaB3 could be quite the convincing emulation. The GUI is scalable, and you’ll need no extra software or third party player to get it going in your DAW.

Compatible with Linux, MacOS Catalina and below, Windows 32 and 64 bit, the CollaB3 is easily installed; all you need to redeem it is your email. It’s supported by the major DAWs including Cubase, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cakewalk, Reaper, Ableton Live, BitWig, Nuendo, FL Studio and more. You can also use it standalone if you’re at a computer without a DAW.
