Sample Logic Symphonic AI

Sample Logic has introduced a new Kontakt orchestral library with a twist. With symphonic samples recorded by Red Room Audio in Bulgaria, Symphonic AI blends orchestral sounds and wavetable synthesis with ‘Animated Intelligence’. The process pushes the Kontakt engine to the limits, cleverly weaving organic and electronic sounds together, then setting them in motion for a dynamic performance.

Strings, woodwind, brass, male and female choir sections, piano, mallet instruments and more samples are all combined with wavetables and can be manipulated to taste with the range of modulation parameters. Step & FX Animators, LFOs and an XY mixer are all onboard to offer a pleasing amount of control.

Symphonic AI boasts an intelligent randomiser that can swiftly create new, inspiring sounds, with over a dozen randomisation filters. You can also drag and drop MIDI patterns to a DAW for inspiring parts, and make use of its hot-swappable effects chain to rapidly alter the patch.

The plug-ins quad-core engine allows for up to four presets to be combined into one enormous instrument. Symphonic AI boasts a whopping 938 “intelligently designed multi-sampled instruments and presets”, according to the brand, amassing 13GB of sounds. There’s also a tagging system so you can keep track of your favourite sounds and settings.

To use Sample Logic’s instrument, you’ll need the full version of Kontakt – this isn’t compatible with the free Kontakt Player. It’s compatible across Mac OS and Windows and is currently on an introductory offer. Until 20 July 2020, you can get the plug-in for $250 instead of the usual £500.
