NAMM 2020: Babyface Pro FS is RME’s beefed up new desktop interface
The popular audio interface is re-engineered – we find out what’s new.
NAMM 2020: RME has built its reputation on solid audio interfaces that virtually never break down. Its devices are remarkably well-engineered and robust, both on the hardware and software side. And the company will seemingly not rest when it knows that it can improve on an existing design. That’s why its latest desktop interface, the BabyFace Pro FS, is largely about internal upgrades rather than external.
Building on the strong foundation of 2015’s Babyface Pro, the Babyface Pro FS gets upgraded clocking for lower noise and higher sound quality. The headphone outputs have also been upgraded for higher output, with the option to change the output impedance for driving speakers.
It shares the same I/O as its predecessor, with two mic ins, two line inputs/DIs, two headphone outs (1/4-inch and 1/8th -inch) and ADAT in and out, plus MIDI.
The Babyface Pro FS is available now and costs $899. More info from RME here.
