Point Blank Tutorial: Techno producer Tom Hades shares his production secrets

Point Blank hooked up with the producer, Tom Hades, at last year’s ADE to film an exclusive masterclass. Hosted by the techno platform, 50:HERTZ, the Q&A-style seminar sees Hades answer some big questions from an informed audience. The Belgian producer breaks down his techniques and shares his wisdom, as well as offering a glimpse into his Ableton Live projects and his favourite plug-ins.

During the video, Hades gives essential mixing tips on sampling, how he layers his kick drums (noting how many are perfect for optimum punch) as well as discussing how you can make your percussion easily cut through your mix. In addition to this, he demonstrates his favourite methods for separating frequencies and the tools he uses to make his mixes sound so clean.
