Pioneer DJ DJM-S7

NAMM 2021: Iconic DJ brand Pioneer DJ has announced the DJM-S7, a two-channel mixer with Bluetooth that’s customisable to the needs of a variety of DJs. The mixer enables free use of Serato DJ Pro and is a Hardware Unlock device for Rekordbox to get users mixing instantly.

The DJM-S7 sports a similar design to the DJM-S11, launched last year, with eight performance pads per deck to trigger samples, features and tracks. You’ll get all 22 Beat FX from the DJM-S11, with independent pad modes to get creative and manipulate effects in unique ways. The Magvel Fader Pro crossfader ensures that, no matter how crazy you get with your performance, minimal damage is done.

Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, performers can play audio from compatible mobile devices. This feature can be used to play loops or one-shots from a mobile instrument app and perform with them on-the-fly. There’s also a Loop MIDI button which allows you to use the large effect levers to send MIDI messages to Serato DJ Pro and Rekordbox, providing the versatility for a more nuanced performance; creating a build-up by gradually shortening the beat cycle of a sample, for example.

Pioneer DJ’s DJM-S7 adopts a few other features from the DJM-S11’s Serato DJ Pro capabilities, including Combo Pad mode, Scratch Bank and Gate Cue.

DJs can pick up the DJM-S7 now for $1,399. Find out more at pioneerdj.com.
