If you’re the type of person in desperate need of a tiny DIY synth, one that acts as a modular laboratory for creating sound and light then the OMSynth MiniLab might be just what you need…
Developed by Bastl Instruments the OMSynth MiniLab lets you make analog oscillators, sequencers and a digital sampler. First shown off in 2014 the OMSynth has been designed with beginners in mind, with tutorial videos on how to get the most out of it available online.
Available ready made or as a DIY kit the OMSynth has plenty of potential for customization with each kit containing potentiometers, touch sensors, buttons and LEDs, all of which can be arranged in different ways.
Able to run off batteries or external power there’s lots of potential for creating on-the-go or in the studio and with the additional built-in speaker as well as audio and headphone outs the OMSynth is a versatile piece of kit.
The OMSynth MiniLab is available now for €90 pre-built or for €70 as a DIY kit. With parts kits priced at €20 each and there’s also a bundle with everything for €135. Head to the Bastl site here for full information.
