Novation announces FLKey fully integrated MIDI keyboard controllers for FL Studio
The FLkey Mini FLkey 37 are the first fully FL Studio-integrated MIDI keyboard controllers.
Novation has unveiled two new MIDI keyboards specifically designed to integrate with FL Studio. The 25-key FLkey Mini and larger FLkey 37 will offer fully integrated hardware control over FL Studio’s instruments, step sequencer, automation and the browsing of presents from Image-Line plug-ins, as well as custom controls with Custom Modes.
Both controllers offer Scale and Fixed Chord modes, allowing for the input of quick ideas without the hazard of melodic mistakes. It’s well suited to the quick, ideas-based workflow offered by FL Studio, a DAW describing itself as “the fastest way from your brain to your speakers.”
Novation says: “The FLkey range comes as a first for Novation. Fully integrated with FL Studio for seamless music production and an intuitive workflow, the FLkey Mini and FLkey 37 MIDI controllers are primed with everything the passionate music producer needs to create music with ease in their favourite DAW.
“FLkey brings FL Studio’s mixer off-screen and puts music production right into the producer’s hands. Suitable for any level of FL Studio user, essential controls are right at their fingertips with powerful musical features to keep creativity and inspiration flowing.”
The FLkey MINI is a portable, 25-mini-key controller with 16 pads and eight rotary mix controls, as well as touch-bar pitch and mod controls. The larger FLkey 37, meanwhile, offers 37 full-size keys and extra features, including Channel rack control, Fixed Chord mode and User Chord mode, allowing users to play custom chords with one finger, and Scale Chord mode, which lets creators play pre-made chords in eight different scales from FLkey’s pads. Like its little brother, the FLkey 37 has 16 pads and 18 rotary controls on its panel.
FLKey MINI and FLKey 37 are available now, retailing at £99.99 and £199.99, respectively. Head to novationmusic.com to find out more.
