Musiio App gives you AI music search for 5p per track
DJs and indie labels can dig deeper into their catalogues with affordable song tagging and search AI.

The Musiio App interface
If you have a vast catalogue of music, then searching through it can be an arduous process, especially if you haven’t been able to bring yourself to tag the tracks in your collection. That’s where music technology AI company Musiio is looking to make your life easier. We’ve previously reported on their tech which allows music libraries such as Audio Network to harness AI for tagging, search and curation. Now, they’re opening up their platform to the public.
The newly launched Musiio App lets anyone with a music catalogue – from DJs to indie labels, to production music libraries – take advantage of the company’s advanced tools. And it costs only 5p per track uploaded.
Musiio’s AI can determine and tag mood, genre, BPM, energy, emotion, the presence of vocals, vocalist gender and more.
Search for music with music
Perhaps the most exciting feature is audio-reference search. That means you can use audio to search for similar audio, a bit like Google Image Search for music. You can upload a track for analysis or even use YouTube links as your audio reference.
Production music libraries can, for example, upload a client’s reference track and see whether they have anything in their catalogue that is similar. Meanwhile, DJs can do the same to find tracks that could work well together in a set.

Ian at Digital Cupboard, a company in the process of digitising two of the largest music catalogues in Africa, is one of the first to use the service. “It would take far too long to do all of these tags manually, so to finally have a piece of technology that does the job it says it does, is a huge timesaver,” he says.
There is no contract so you can sign up, tag and pay for what you use and Musiio is offering 25 free uploads to test the tech on your catalogue. Although there’s only a 5p charge for each track uploaded for tagging, if you want to keep using audio-reference search, you’ll pay an additional 5p per track per month to cover storage on Musiio’s secure servers.
You can try the service now at app.musiio.com.
