Jack White shares his twist on a classic mixing technique

In a video published on Saturday to The Raconteurs YouTube channel, Jack White reveals a trick he’s been using at Vance Powell’s Sputnik Sound to test mixes in the car… And it’s not what you might think.

Taking the mixing console feed into an FM transmitter, White transmits the mix of Shine The Light On Me to his vehicle to perform the all-important “car test”. Mix notes are then fed back live to Powell in the control room using a walkie talkie.

Pirate radio never sounded so good.
