Rapper and songwriter Meek Mill has shared a video on Instagram that was sent to him by his son. It’s a screen recording of a BandLab project with snippets of his son’s vocals rapping over an ominous backing beat, who seems to have been inspired by his dad’s success.

Giving kudos to his son, Meek writes in the caption: “My son send me a song everyday and he gasss lol!”.

The track includes some amusing rhymes from the young, aspiring rapper. Don’t just take our word for it – Drake, Tierra Whack and Gillie Da King all left their praise, amongst others, all reciting some of the highlights.

“Outta all my songs this my fav rap”, Drake references, while Omi In A Hellcat showed love for “Got a Xbox gift card I’m about to redeem”.

BandLab, the platform on which Meek Mill’s son recorded, has just reached version 10.0. As he’s proven, it’s pretty easy to lay down some ideas on the free mobile and desktop app. With BandLab 10.0, users are now able to chop up audio and finger-drum with the free Sampler instrument, whether it’s audio imported or recorded from a phone, or from the 15,000 free samples available on BandLab Sounds.

The platform’s free mastering service has been upgraded, too, with four new algorithms to choose from. There’s also a new sharing feature that makes it a breeze for producers to use their songs in a TikTok video.

[Editor’s note: BandLab is owned by BandLab Technologies, which also owns MusicTech]
