Make sweeter vocals with Antares Auto-Tune EFX+
Plug-in is touted to deliver “stunning effects on any vocal track”.

Antares Technologies has unveiled Auto-Tune EFX+, a plug-in capable of augmenting your vocal tracks with an array of unique effects. The latest in the brand’s line of EFX plug-ins, this edition arrives with effects that can help you make both subtle adjustments and complex modifications like vocal mutations. The brand also promises low-latency plug-in performance, which sees your vocals transformed in real-time.
Here are the details:
EFX multi-effects rack
At the plug-in’s core is a multi-effects rack, which comes with six different modules. The parameters in each module can be further sculpted via an intuitive XY Pad.
- Pitch and Throat: Used for real-time pitch- and formant-shifting
- Mutate: Used for ring modulated audio mutation
- Duet: Provides realistic doubling that can be adjusted for pitch and timing variation
- Vocode: Provides vintage analogue vocoder emulations
- Tube Amp: A digital model of analogue tube distortion
- Filter: A high-pass filter for EQ and special effects

Auto-motion
Auto-motion is a melodic pattern generator that comes up with fresh melodic patterns and hooks. Crucial to this tool is a library of triggerable melodic patterns that can intelligently adapt to the key and tempo of your song, according to the brand. These patterns affect the nature of how the generator pitch-shifts the original vocal track, giving you those new vocal phrases in the process.
Stay in tune and key
The plug-in comes with Antares’ popular Auto-Tune functions, which featured in older EFX predecessors. Auto-Tune has the same Retune and Humanize controls which govern pitch correction – you can either have a transparent track or layered auto-tune effect.
Auto-Key, on the other hand, is a standalone plug-in that’s been integrated into Auto-Tune EFX+. This useful key-tracking tool automatically detects the key and scale of a song.
Auto-Tune EFX+ retails at $199. Those who purchased older Auto-Tune EFX versions before 1 March 2019 will have to pay $69 for an upgrade. Otherwise, the upgrade is free.
