In his new series, You’re So Hybrid!, Joe Clegg teaches you how to integrate Ableton Live with your performance as a drummer. Joe is known for his long-standing collaboration with Ellie Goulding, his role as musical director for Clean Bandit, and as live music producer for Mumford & Sons. Joe breaks down his kit and set-up in this course, detailing his approach to programming and playing for high-profile pop gigs.

“I personally think that there is beauty in the detail, that recreating a programmed drum part with accuracy is an art form in itself,” Joe explains. “I use Ableton Live on almost every show I work on. It isn’t the only DAW used in the world of live music, but it is creative, versatile, and reliable. Ableton handles MIDI, samples, and software instruments in a unique way, designed with performance in mind.”

Joe Clegg’s video series is broken down into fourteen parts. He demonstrates how to take studio recordings and make them work in a live arena in a human and musical way. He discusses programming and automation of electronic drums and how it can work on stage.

Recorded at Snap Studios in London, You’re So Hybrid! Features three video performance of Joe’s original material to demonstrate how he incorporates electronic and acoustic drums.

You’re So Hybrid! is priced at £95 for lifetime access. Find out more at artclub.live/alfd
