TikTok is diving deeper into live video by expanding its features for creators and viewers. New tools include the ability to schedule live events, go live with another user, picture-in-picture streaming and more.
Live Events will launch in select markets first and are introduced as a way to let creators schedule, manage and promote an upcoming stream, while viewers can register to receive notifications of events from ones they follow.

Creators will also get to invite another user to stream with them in the same video through the Go Live Together feature or assist offscreen as a moderator for the comments section with Help For Hosts.
Live Q&A offers a suite of tools to let creators engage with their viewers by picking, showcasing and answering questions while on the air.

For longer streams, Picture-In-Picture mode lets users on iOS and Android devices continue watching, even if they’re not on the app.
Live content will also be easier to find through a dedicated Live button that’s already been rolled out to some users. Expect to see the rest of the features appearing in your app soon.
TikTok’s new live features were announced in an official post and video earlier this month featuring T-Pain.
